History of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School
In 2004, the education program at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church began. The program was host to an average of eight students and was open for two days each week.
The following year, the program was expanded to five days a week and two classes with a total enrollment of sixteen students.
In the 2006-2007 academic year, the curriculum was again expanded to add a Kindergarten class, along with three preschool classes. Total enrollment had grown to thirty students.
During the 2007-2008 school year, we were proud to become St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Elementary School and be able to offer pre-K3 through third grade with over 50 students enrolled.
The fourth grade was added in the 2008-2009 academic year and our new school began the accreditation process. Total enrollment increased to 80 students.
Nationally Accredited through AdvancEd (SACS/CASI) and with 100 students enrolled, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School was able to offer pre-K3 through fifth grade education for the 2009-2010 academic year.
As the 2010-2011 school year progressed, we were proud to be home to a school that offers a pre-K3 through sixth grade education for our students.
The addition of our seventh grade and the very exciting accomplishment of receiving Mississippi State Accreditation occurred during our 2011 - 2012 school year. StCB is now the only national and state accredited private school in Pearl River County.
The 2012 - 2013 school began with an over ten percent increase in enrollment bringing the school to a total of 147 students. We also added our eighth grade completing our Elementary and Jr. High school. The year ended with our first eighth grade class graduation, we know the best is yet to come!
